Roxie and I both remained locked in that pen for until christmas Eve. Dexter did let us once a day for an hour to have some space and move around in the cold (Roxie and I both prefered cold climates as reindeer now) but he straped heavy chains to us to keep us from flying. While in our pen, we could hear Dexter and his elves making plans though...to rob houses. We both were disgusted.

Roxie spent most of her time just laying around in despair, like all hope was lost. I felt terrible. Sure I did not like that my husband had gone completely insane and was abusing us...I couldn't imagine how badly his time suffering in Hell had twisted him and messed him up, or how he had escaped...but I really should not have jumped to conclusions about him hurting that girl...he had been shot...when he was trying to SAVE her! I just felt so guilty...

On christmas Eve, Dexter came wearing a Santa Claus suit.

“Did you two enjoy your stay here?” he asked mockingly.

“Not even a little.” I said through gritted teeth.

“Well, tough shit.” he said smiling. “Anyway, it’s time go now."

He roped us both and led us to his sleigh. We were both hitched up, Roxie in front and me in the back. Dexter entered carrying a whip and two elves joined him.

“Okay on On Heather! On Roxie! To the innocent’s homes first, and then to Fort Knoxy!”

Roxie and I groaned at the awful rhyme.

He then cast his whip and we took off. Roxie and I both reluctantly pulled my husband through the sky on that Christmas Eve to forcibly help him rob. Roxie and I both looked down. Despite everything else, it was pretty cool being able to fly that high. The view was breathtaking.

“Daddy?” Roxie asked.

“What?” Dexter asked.

“Aren’t you worried you’ll be spotted?” she asked. “Adults know Santa isn’t real, so...”

“Not at all!” he said. “You see, when you guys and my sleigh are flying, it is invisible to everyone else! Creative, don’t you think?”

Neither of us replied. But we actually thought it was...kinda.

We knew the world completely now. I guess we gained the knowledge when we turned into reindeer. The first house we arrived at was the home of the police officer who shot Dexter.

“Guard them and make sure they don’t fly off.” he ordered his elf.

“Yes boss!” he said.

We watched Dexter go down the chimney.

We both just stood there sadly, waiting until he finished and we went on to the next house...until Roxie got a huge smile on her face.

“Hey mr elf!” Roxie called.

“What do you want?” he asked.

“You got any cash, or are you a little SHORT!” she laughed.

The elf glared at her, but then brushed it off.

“Sweetie, what are you doing?!” I asked her horrified.

“I have an idea!” Roxie said smiling.

“Y-you do?” I asked. “What is it?”

“You know why no restaruant on earth would you as a chef Mr. Elf? Because the STEAKS are too high!

“The elf looked livid. I thought that Roxie had lost her mind!

“Honey, how is this going to...” I started.

“you know why you would need two bonzai trees? For your hammock!” Roxie laughed

The elf was trying to ignore her but was starting to get really mad.

Suddenly, I realized what Roxie’s plan was! You’ll soon find out too.

“Sweetie, et me take it from here.” I said smiling

I took a mouth full of snow and put some in each of Roxie’s ears to keep her from hearing what I was going to be saying.

“Don’t listen to this okay?” I asked. She nodded.

“Hey what is the difference between a clever elf and a venereal disease?: One is a cunning runt, and the other is a running cunt!” I yelled.

The elf looked REALLY angry now. It was working!

“Did you hear about the elf that got stoned? He could finally hold his head up high!” I cried

He looked like he just needed one more joke. A strong one!

“You sad? Call the elf abuse helpline. They’ll say a couple of jokes about your size will do the trick!”

“THAT DOES IT!” he roared, his red eyes glowing. “Looks like you two need to learn a little lesson of respect!”

He stormed over to us opening his fanged mouth hand raising his claws

But as soon as he was close enough, Roxie shined her glowing red nose full blast in the elf’s face. The light she gave was so bright, it blinded him for a moment and as he was backing up, I kicked him in the face with my strong hooves off the roof and on the ground. He wasn’t dead though, since he could never die. Only unconscious.

“Roxie, it worked!” I cried proudly. “Great plan!”

“Thank you mommy.” she said smiling.

We then bit our way out of the harnesses and flew off to freedom.

“We’re free, we’re free!” Roxie cried.

“Yes honey.” I said smiling. Yes we are.

After flying for a while, Roxie asked me something.

“Mommy, where are we going?” she asked.

I paused. I never really thought of that!

“How can we change back?” Roxie asked.

“I don’t know honey.” I said. “And to be honest...I don’t think we ever will.”

Roxie looked sad.

“We’ll figure out something...but for now, I think we need to find other deer to live with....”

“Do you know where any deer live....that’s cold?” Roxie asked (we both perfered cold environments now a reindeer.

“No...” I admitted. But I grinned. “But now I have an idea! Follow me!”

“Where are we going?” Roxie asked.

“To New York City!” I said and we both flew together. After a while, it got really foggy.

“Oh crap.” I moaned.

“What is it mommy?” Roxie asked,

“Well, first of all, don’t say crap.” I said. “But this fog is too thick for me to see through. Oh but it starts in just a few minutes....”

“I don’t know you’re thinking about, but I can get us through that fog with my glowing red nose!” Roxie said.

“Oh that’s right!” I cried. “Roxie sweetie, will you lead us through the fog?”

“It would be my honor!” Roxie said and she guided us through. Eventually we made it through and were at New York.
