A fishy new life: A traitor resurfaces

Richard came home.

“Hey honey.’ he said smiling at his wife.

“Hi Richie.” Karen said.  “Business any better?”

“No.” Richard said. “Don’t expect many customers when you go in on Monday.”

“Well, I’ve got news regarding the kids.” Karen said. “Mrs. Dorley called and said Danny’s math grade is absolutely atrocious. she says if he doesn't improve, he’ll have to retake the class in summer school!”

“Did you talk to him yet?” Richard asked.

“No. I don’t want to tell him right now” Karen said. “Amy and Danny are really scared right now.”

“Well the should be.” Richard said. “Honey, if things don’t get better...we might not be able to keep this mansion even.”

“We gotta pray and remain optimistic.” Karen said.

“No dear!” Richard cried. “We can’t rely on God anymore! He’s obviously too busy helping deviantart get more views or something! We need to get customers back! And we need to now!”

“Dear....” Karen said.

“Honey, I’m sorry but this is serious!” richard cried. “We worked too hard to build up this fortune and I’m not gonna lose it without a fight!”

“We’ll think of something dear.” Karen said.

Danny entered.

“Mommy, daddy?” he asked.

“Yes son?” Richard asked.

“ARe...are we going to lose our fortune?” he asked.

KAren sighed.

“If things don’t get better sweetie...we might.”

Danny had some tears in his eyes.

“honey, rich or not, we’ll still be a family.” Karen said. “And we promise we’ll always love you.”

Danny nodded.

“Where’s Amy?” Richard asked.

Danny giggled. “She got detention.”

“What?!” Richard cried. “What for?”

“She tried plagarizing another students essay.” Karen said. “Sound familiar Richie?”

Danny looked confused.

“We’ll tell you it later.” Richard said.

LAter they had a talk with Amy.

“Honey, we’re disappointed in you.” Karen said. “Plagarism is a very serious thing. Believe me, your father and I both know.”

“I’m sorry.” Amy said. “I just...I’ve been so busy with my friends...I never really read the book.”

“Well, for your honesty, we’ll only ground you for a week.” Richard said. “You can still watch television and talk on the phone, but you can’t leave the house or have friends over.”

‘Okay. That sounds fair.” Amy said.

“Thank you for taking responsibility so well honey.” Karen said. “You’re a very mature girl.”

Amy nodded.

“Honey, why didn’t you ask us for help?” Richard asked.

“I just figured...with our budget being so tight...you wouldn’t want to bother with me.”

Richard felt terrible. He then decided that he had to take Kevin’s offer.

So on Saturday, when Karen was visiting her folks with Danny for the weekend and Amy was still grounded, Richard called Kevin.

“Excellent!” Kevin laughed. “I’ll send you the link and password to create your fake company site! I’ll walk you through the steps on the phone.”

Richard sighed. “He couldn’t believe that he was actually doing this!

He got the link and made a fake company name called “Nesxo” Kevin then taught Richard some tricks about how to edit business info on certain people’s computer when they were looking at it. IT was an ingenious method that required a super skilled hacker like Kevin to do. Soon Richard was ready, and headed for the basement.

He waited. Sure enough, money was coming into his account! People were investing online being fooled be the edited urls and fake service!

Karen arrived home with Danny on Sunday

“Honey, I’ve got great news!” Richard cried. “We’re rich again!”

“WE ARE?!” Karen exclaimed. “Oh honey, that’s a miracle!”

“The economy’s getting better and we’ve got customers again!” Richard cried.

“I can’t wait to see a bunch of nice people again when I go to the company!” Karen cried.

When Karen arrived at work, she received a calls from Kevin’s employees faking customrship. When they accepted, Richard would put the money into their account to make it look like they received customers for their business!

Soon the family was doing better than ever!

Well soon it was Danny’s tenth birthday, and all the kids from his class were there.

“I can’t wait to see the new commentary from Nintendo on that!” Nathan said.

“You can see it when I’m done with it!” Danny cried.

“Oh god, the club is gonna be psyched!” Nathan cried. “Glad to have our old president back!”
Danny smiled.

There was then a knock on the door.
